Exotic pets may be quite different from dogs and cats, but their basic care needs can be similar. Regular wellness checkups are important to help spot potential problem areas before they become significant issues, and many exotic pets also require vaccinations from common diseases.
Because many exotic pets can be less expressive than dogs or cats, it can be very difficult to recognize when something is wrong. Watch for warning signs such as changes in activity levels, appetite, or other behaviors, and bring your pet in for a diagnostic visit if you think something is up.
