Staff of Highland Animal Hospital

Maggie Murphy, Hospital Manager

Having worked at Highland Animal Hospital since January 1997, Hospital Manager Maggie Murphy knows the ins and outs of our veterinary office better than anyone. Her responsibilities include overseeing the day to day operations of the hospital, maintaining employee records and benefits, overseeing the staff and managing all financial aspects of the company. Maggie has a bachelor's degree in finance from Boston College and began working here in January 1997.

"After being with Highland Animal Hospital since 1997, I have watched it grow and it has been an exciting journey," she says. "We sustain a family atmosphere with both staff and clients alike."

At home, Maggie enjoys the company of her 13 year old maltese, Eddie and her two cats, Gray Babe and Fluffanutter.

Janeen Yerardi, Inventory Manager and Reception Supervisor

Being able to have fun and yet simultaneously approach her work seriously is one of Janeen Yerardi's most admirable traits. In her position, she is responsible for ordering, receiving and managing all of Highland Animal Hospital's inventory. She also leads the reception team and supervises staffing and customer service. "I like being organized and I have a great reception staff," she says. Janeen earned her bachelor's degree in equine science and business management from Mount Ida College in 2009 and has been working in the animal related field for over ten years.

"I've worked with horses since I was 13, becoming a licensed riding instructor at 18," she says. "I taught full-time until I started at Highland Animal Hospital and still teach once in a while when time permits."

Janeen cites the "down to earth" quality of the staff members and clients as reasons for her contentedness in working for Highland Animal Hospital.

At home, Janeen enjoys the company of her dog, Koal, and her cat, Olive. She likes to take Koal for walks with her co-worker, Eri, and her dog, Quinn. Janeen enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching movies/TV series, shopping, relaxing and doing crafts. She admits that she loves to be outside "in any season".

Eri Yoshida, Head Veterinary Technician

With her background and professional experience at emergency veterinary hospitals (Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital and Metrowest Veterinary Referral Hospital), Veterinary Technician Eri Yoshida is a helpful resource to Highland Animal Hospital clients. Her many responsibilities include patient care, client education, surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring, coordinating the schedules and meeting for the veterinary technicians and conducting performance reviews. She earned her bachelor's degree from Boston College, is a certified veterinary technician and is also a certified PennHip member. She joined our team in 2002.

Eri attributes her satisfaction in working at Highland Animal Hospital to the fact that the working environment is a close one. "Many of our staff has been here long term, which creates close working relationships among us all," she says. She also acknowledges that the hospital does a very good job keeping up with new technologies and trends such as acupuncture and laser therapy.

In her spare time, Eri likes to volunteer at the Animal Rescue League, horseback ride, craft, read and hike with her dog, Quinn.
